Ashford’s Create Music Festival 2014 is now accepting applications from talented musicians looking to be part of the festivities this summer.
Bands, DJs, singer-songwriters and musicians of all genres are being invited to get involved in what is hoped will be the biggest and best Create yet on Sunday 27th July.
Last year, Create broke all records with over 13,000 people flocking to Victoria Park to see local acts perform alongside 2013 headliners Dodgy.
As always, the family friendly festival will include a mix of entertainment for all ages including talent from across the borough as well as the rest of the country. Home-grown talent will perform alongside big name musicians, as well as theatrical and spoken word acts, and there will be plenty of craft and trade stalls, and food and drink.
There will also be a special one-off show at St Mary’s during the weekend of Create, sponsored by Right Track Music, with a high profile headline act coming to town, supported by local bands.
This year, the festival will also have a ‘Create for Create’ theme, and will be challenging performers, music lovers, and staff to ‘create’ something unique in the run up to the festival, from crafts to video blogs.
All headline acts for this year’s event are being kept under wraps for now, but will be announced in the coming months.
Festival organiser Chris Dixon said: “Ashford is really starting to establish itself as a place for year-round high profile music entertainment, with the award-winning Revelation St Mary’s and numerous festivals and events throughout the year. Therefore Create will aim to be the centrepiece, packing in the best of Ashford’s arts as well as music from around the region into one spectacular day.”
